- Maida : 1 cup
- Oil : ½ tsp
- Salt : ¼ tsp
- Water : As needed for kneading.
For stuffing :
- Finely chopped Vegetables (Cabbage,carrots,french beans,Capsicum): 2 cups
- Small sized spring onions : (finely chopped)
- Garlic : 3-4 nos (Finely chopped)
- Soy sauce : 1 tsp
- Black pepper : 1/2 tsp
- Oil : 1 tbsp
- salt : as required
For preparing the outer part of momos, take maida, salt and oil in a bowl and mix it well. Pour little water and knead it well to make firm dough, keep it aside for 30 minutes. For the inner stuffing, Take a pan and pour oil and when it becomes hot, add all the finely chopped vegetables, garlic and saute it for 2-3 seconds. Add onions and saute it for another 15 minutes. Increase the flame and let the vegatables cook well. when the vegetables are cooked, add soy souce, salt and pepper. Add 2 tbsp of spring onion greens and fry for a minute. Add more salt or soya sauce if needed and keep it aside.
Now shape the dough by making a 7 inch log from each part and cut it in equal slices. Make balls out of it and take each ball and roll it into a thin circle of about 2-3 inch diameter. Make sure the edges are thin and the centre part to be thick. After that place 2 tsp of vegetable filling in the centre and fold it by pleating. Prepare all momos in similar way and cover it with a moist napkin. After that heat water in a steamer and let it come to boil. Place the momos for cooking in an idli pan and steam it for 5 to 6 minutes. Garnish the momos with spring onions when its cooked. Serve it hot with spicy sauce or tomato chilli. Also goes well with Chilli garlic chutney.
