Suvarna Vidhana Soudha To Become a Tourist Spot
Bangalore: Proposal are made to convert the Suvarna Vidhana Soudha at belgaum into a tourist spot. It was built at a cost of Rs 400 crore to relieve the congenstion of Vidhana Soudha in Bangalore. Suvarna Vidhana Soudha was inaugurated in the year 2012. Three legislature sessions have been held there so far; The government spends around Rs 70 lakh a month for the maintenance of the Soudha. A meeting is supposed be held in Bangalore next week to discuss how to develop Suvarna Vidhan Soudha, There is a proposal to develop a garden at a cost of Rs 13 crore around suvarna vidhan soudha for people to relax. Besides constructing a Legislators’ Home on the premises, plans are going on to have 100 houses in the first phase. Two or three legislature committee meetings are held in the Suvarna Vidhana Soudha every month, with the Belgaum district administration functioning from its own mini Vidhana Soudha in the city. The 16 legislature-level committees have been instructed to hold meetings once a month in SVS.
