Male pattern baldness is the most common type of hair loss that takes place in almost all men. Hair loss resulting in thinning of hair is known as alopecia. Hair fall, when it is related to hormones is known as androgenetic alopecia. Alopecia is characterised by a receding hairline on the top and front of the head. Male pattern baldness is related to your genes and male sex hormones, It usually follows a pattern of receding hairline and hair thinning on the crown. The most common cause of male pattern baldness is Heredity which is harmless. However, sometimes it has more serious causes, such as certain cancers, medications, thyroid conditions, and anabolic steroids. Male sex hormones known as androgens functions to regulate hair growth. Baldness generally occur when the hair follicle shrinks over time thus resulting in shorter and finer hair. Each strand of hair you have sits in a tiny hole (cavity) in the skin called a follicle. Eventually, the follicle does not grow new hair. Normally it takes 15-25 years to become bald but some men go bald in less than five years. Consult your doctor if hair loss happens due to intake of new medications or related to any other health issues. Men who got limited hair loss can conceal hair loss with the right haircut or hairstyle done. Consult your hairstylist for a creative hair cut that will make thinning hair look fuller.
