Malpe Beach
Malpe is an important port and fishing harbor on the Karnataka coast, about six kilometers to the west of Udupi. The scenic beach is quiet famous among both the locals and tourists. Malpe is a hub of Mogaveera population, Apart from being an important port and fishing hub it is a beach town, there are four rocky islands surounding malpe. Daria-bahadurgad is toward the north, Kari-Illada-Kallu is towards the south, Daria-Gadara-Kalluthe is situated inbetween the both and the fourth one is St. Mary’s Islands, also known as thonse paar.
Fishing is the largest industry in maple, It is the largest port in karnataka. Tile-manufacturing was another thriving industry in Malpe apart from coconut cultivation.Malpe also houses temples of Balarama and Ananteshwara. The temple of Balarama was built by Mogaveera king Maindan.
