Mahesh Shrinivas Bhupathi
Mahesh Shrinivas Bhupathi was born on 7th of June 1974. He is an Indian professional tennis player who partnered with leander Paes and brought laurels to the country. In the Year 1997, He became the first Indian to win a Grand slam. He also achieved a career Grand slam in Mixed doubles in the year 2006. He excelled in the Doubles and is best known as one of the top doubles players in the 1990s and 2000s, and played at the top level Partnering with the then big-wigs of world tennis. In the year 1999,Bhupathi won three doubles titles with Leander Paes, including French Open and Wimbledon. They managed to reach the finals of all four Grand Slams. That Year they Became the world No.1 Doubles team.
In the year 2006, Bhupathi completed a career Grand Slam in mixed doubles. Bhupathi partnered with many of worlds leading Doubles players like Radek Štěpánek, Max Mirnyi, Pavel Vízner, Nenad Zimonjić, Knowles’, Michaël Llodra, Rohan Bopanna. In 2006, Bhupathi won the doubles championship with Leander Paes at the Asian Games in Doha. He also won many tournaments in the mixed double events partnering Sania Mirza. Bhupathi has played 46 matches for India in the Davis Cup (1995-06), winning 28 and losing 18. Out of the 28 matches that he won, 20 of his victories came in doubles Matches. In 2001, he was awarded the Padma Shri,Bhupathi is an alumnus of the University of Mississippi in the United States.His first marriage ended up in divorce and later he married Lara Dutta in a civil ceremony on 16 February 2011 at Bandra, Mumbai.It was followed by a Christian ceremony on 20 February 2011 at Sunset Point in Goa. They are blessed with a daughter Saira,She was born on 20th January 2012.
