The karnataka Government’s M-one app which was launched last Month is making headlines. The app which offers over 4000 Government services, has gone live on Google Play Store and Apple app store and is available for download on Android Devices and iOS devices. The services on offer includes Utility services like paying electricity and water bill, access city police, traffic police and crime records bureau services, Healthcare – Access the best help available in your vicinity and find & connect with verified health care providers, book appointments, find blood banks etc. Multiple citizen-centric services like RTO services, BMTC services, Cab booking & Metro Rail (BMRCL) smart-card recharge can be done through M-one app. Recharge, view and pay your mobile bills. Choose from major mobile operators like Airtel, Aircel etc. Pay property tax and apply for birth and death certificates. User has to provide property account details to check Property Identification (PID) Status and can pay property taxes. Plan your travel and stay. Users can book bus or train tickets and holiday packages, To know Exam results are some of the main services been provided.
The app will be integrated with central government’s PayGov payment gateway. Credit/Debit cards, NetBanking,IMPS and RuPay cash wallet will also support payments on the app. The platform is hosted on Karnataka State Data Centre and is implemented by Centre for e-Governance under the e-governance department. The app will support user’s needs through various modes such as through SMSes, IVRS etc.The service is a brain child of the state Chief Minister Siddaramaiah, Karnataka is the first state in the country to give all its smartphone equipped citizens the option to access and use government services on their handheld devices.
