Kunchikal Falls is located near Masthikatte-Hulikal bordering Udupi-Shimoga district,Karnataka.The waterfall (1493 feet ) is the highest waterfall in india and the second highest in asia. Also called Kunchikal Abbe, The falls is formed by varahi river. The place is known as the chirapunji of the south as it receives very heavy rainfall. The nearest railway station is udupi and is located 67 kms from agumbe,and shimoga station is 97 kms away. The nearest airport is mangalore airport (142 km). There are no proper accomodation facilities in nearby the falls. The famous hotel padiyars is near to the sunset point. You can find good hotels in nearby places like Hassan, Chikamaglur or Sringeri.
