Kaup Beach- The Coastal Beauty of Udupi
Kaup beach is a small costal village in udupi district, Karnataka. It lies between udupi and Mangalore. The region is predominantly known for its most serene and pristine beaches and makes it one of the major beaches in the city of Mangalore. The tropical climate attracts tourists from across the country.
The Light House
The beach is famously known to house an old lighthouse that was built in the year 1901.This man made tower is at the height of about 34 meters and its light spreads over a distance of about 34 miles and can be seen from a distance of about 100 miles. The lighthouse is open for visitors between 4pm to 6pm and the panoramic view offered is magnificent. The best time to visit KaupBeach is from October to December.
How to Reach :
The nearest airport is Mangalore and the nearest railway stations are at Udupi and Mangalore. Kaup is a 25-minute journey from the town of Udupi. Kaup can be reached easily by road. it lies on the West Coast National Highway between Udupi and Mangalore. It is around 410 kms away from bengaluru, 45 kms from mangalore, 15kms from manipal and 12 Kms from udupi. There are regular buses also for commuter convenience.
