Mango is a tropical fruit cultivated in many parts of India, and now its been cultivated and distributed wide across the world in many continents. Mangoes are well known as the king of all fruits. Apart from being a tasty fruit, Mangoes also offers a number of health benefits. One cup of mango contains 105 calories, 25 percent vitamin A ,76 percent vitamin C, 11 percent vitamin B6 plus other B vitamins, 9 percent healthy probiotic fibre, 9 percent copper, 7 percent potassium and 4 percent magnesium.
Mango fruit is rich in pre-biotic dietary fiber, minerals, vitamins, and poly-phenolic flavonoid antioxidant compounds. It is also a very good source of vitamin-B6 (pyridoxine), vitamin-C and vitamin-E. Consumption of foods rich in vitamin C helps the body develop resistance against infectious agents and harmful oxygen-free radicals. The high levels of fiber, pectin and vitamin C help to lower serum cholesterol levels, specifically Low-Density Lipoprotein.Mangoes are rich in anti-oxidants which are known to prevent breast cancer, prostate cancer and colon cancer etc,It also helps prevent leukemia. Fresh mango is a good source of potassium. 100 gm provides 156 mg of potassium. Potassium is an important component of cell and body fluids which controls heart rate and blood pressure. Mango is rich in iron content, hence it is a great natural solution for people who suffering from anemia. Menopausal and pregnant women can also have mangoes as this will increase their iron levels and calcium. Before going to bed put some 10 or 15 mango leaves in warm water and close it with lid. The next day morning filter the water and drink it in empty stomach. Do this regularly.
