Gulab Jaamun Recepie
For the sugar syrup:
Water : 2 cups
Sugar : 1.5 cups
Green cardamoms : 3-4 , husked & crushed or powdered
Saffron : a pinch
Rose water : 1 tsp
Method for preparing the sugar solution :
Mix water, sugar, cardamom and saffron well, cook till the mix gets Little thicky. There should be no thread formation in the sugar solution. Stir in the rose water and keep it aside.
Mix milk powder, flour and soda in a bowl. Add oil or ghee and 1 tbsp of yogurt. Mix it well and keep on adding little of the remaining yogurt to get a soft sticky mixture. If The dough get crumbly or dry, then add some yogurt. Make smooth small balls from the dough. In a pan, heat the oil in low flame. Add the balls and fry them by stirring them often to get an even color. when they become golden colour, remove from a slotted spoon and add them to the sugar syrup. Let them soak in the sugar syrup for atleast 1-2 hours.Then serve it warm or cold.
