- Rice Flour : 4cups
- Roasted urud flour : 1 cup
- Salt : 2 teaspoon or to taste
- Butter : 1 tbspn
- Coconut Oil : for deep frying
- Cumin seed (coarsly crushed) : 1 tspn
- Pepper powder : 1 teaspoon
Method I :
Sieve both kinds of flour and keep it in a bowl.Add salt,cumin,pepper powder and mix well. Add fresh butter and blend with the flour properly till it is mixed evenly. Grind the coconut scraping with little water. Strain through a fine equally into 5 or 6 portions.
Method II :
Sprinkle coconut Extract to each portion separately just before frying and knead to a thick dough.Pass it through greased murukku maker with three eyed disc.Make small murukku on a sheet of thick polythene or wet cloth.Deep fry in hot oil few at a time or till the oil holds.When it becomes crisp,take out from oil and place on an absorbent paper to remove excess oil.when it attains room temperature,store it in air tight container.
