Bengaluru Bus Routes
Since February 2009, BMTC has been steadily introducing “Direction-based” bus services, which are easy for customers to understand and use. These buses, popularly known as Big10 and BigCircle buses, run on main roads, and together they form a simple grid. There are 12 major roads in and out of the city, and on each of these a Big10 route is operated. And on the Outer Ring Road, BigCircle buses ply in overlapping routes. Green Big10 buses run on a single main road (e.g. Hosur Road, Bellary Road, etc)., whereas Blue Big10 buses connect two such roads (e.g. Hosur Road to Tumkur Road).
With this grid, you can intuitively find your way around town. And these are also high-frequency buses, so there is very little waiting time, and you can plan your journey reliably. In the future BMTC will expand this network further.
